Flat cotton wicks treated with stiffened wax and fitted with a small aluminium plate at the end. Used for candle making with wax gel, rapeseed wax or a mix of stearin, paraffin and pure wax in small glass holders, for example

The wick is fixed to the base of the candle mould/container with a slightly liquid wax or glue. The wick can be centred (guided at the top) during casting using masking tape or a clothes peg, which can rest on the edge of the mould/container.
